The program prepares graduates to become leaders in educational measurement, test-theory, program evaluation, large-scale and classroom-based assessment practice, educational statistics, quantitative methodology, and educational research methods. Our graduates pursue careers in academia, testing and research companies, evaluation firms, state departments of education, and school districts. The program integrates theory and practice to promote the scientific uses of measurement within the field of education and related disciplines. Coursework focuses on current and emerging topics including causality and causal inference, instrument development, classical and modern measurement theory and applications, item response theory, multivariate statistical techniques, multilevel modeling, latent variable modeling, statistical programming, and educational assessment. Emphasis is on the development of professional competencies in these areas.

The program goes beyond educational research to include social, behavioral and health research. Students will develop advanced and holistic analytical skills that will help them use data as a tool for promoting social justice and the public good.

This program is designed to help students develop skills in data analysis, educational research design and evaluation assessment through the courses offered by program faculty, by participating in research projects with faculty, and by conducting their own research projects. Graduates of the program find work as researchers, psychometricians, and data analysts in testing companies, research and evaluation companies, universities, school districts, state and federal agencies.

This program is designed to prepare exceptional and highly qualified researchers and teachers for academic positions and other educational settings, methodology consultants for state and private organizations, and evaluators for various grant organizations. It is open to students who hold only a bachelor’s degree and to students who have already completed a graduate degree.

The program provides training and hands-on experience with the cutting-edge quantitative methods techniques used in data science, applied statistics, educational measurement, and machine learning. Students will also learn theory, methods, professional ethics, and methodological best practices in quantitative research methodology.

This program is designed for students with strong interests in research methods and their applications. Students pursuing Doctoral degrees in other programs may enroll in a dual degree program leading to the Master'sdegree in Measurement, Statistics and Evaluation, or there is also a 21-credit certificate program for doctoral students.

The program seeks to prepare individuals with expertise in research methods and program evaluation skills. The degree is designed to not only provide core knowledge, but to heighten the research skills of students by requiring them to work closely with faculty in research experiences prior to commencing their own dissertation.

This program focuses on the development of systematic inquiry skills essential to the study and evaluation of educational processes and outcomes. The intent of the program is to develop professionals to work in universities and colleges, school districts, government agencies, commercial test publishing companies, and program evaluation and research organizations. The program emphasizes coursework and research that focuses on inquiry methodology and applied problems in education and the social sciences. Students participate actively in research, with explicit goals for presentation of their research in refereed conferences and journals.
