Research to Impact: Case Studies for Natural Resource Management for Irrigated Rice in Asia

Divided into four main parts this book aims to share lessons and experiences and document cross-country learning in 11 countries from bridging research and extension to fostering multi-stakeholder partnership for “research to impact.” into best practices for natural resource management in Asian rice production. Part I Highlights the importance of using participatory approaches, presenting the experiences of the IRRC Country Outreach Programs (ICOPs) in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Myanmar. Part II illustrates the various processes of putting science into practice through the documentation of 14 case studies across south and south-east Asia. Part III focuses on the assessment of impacts of NRM technologies adopted by farmers in Vietnam and China and Part IV consists of reflections from a renowned sociologist, Dr. Gelia Castillo.
