Case study: Using QuIP to evaluate Tearfund’s church and community transformation programme

This resource provides an example of the use of the Qualitative Impact Assessment Protocol (QuIP) approach in an ongoing evaluation of a Tearfund programme.

The QuIP methodology was employed to evaluate Tearfund's Church and Community Transformation (CCT) programs in four countries, serving as part of ongoing evaluation rather than initial design or final evaluation. Due to the community-driven and flexible nature of the CCT programs, alongside a lack of baseline data, traditional experimental methods were deemed challenging. QuIP was chosen for its focus on outcomes, allowing for a deeper understanding of causal pathways and respondents' perspectives across cases and countries.
