The Master'sin Education with the option in Research and Evaluation offers candidates the opportunity to examine theory and practice in educational research and evaluation; to participate in research or evaluation projects in school districts, non-profit organizations or at the university, and to assume leadership roles in research and evaluation. This program incorporates a specialization in research and evaluation into an existing Master’s Degree program.

The Certificate of Advanced Study in Evaluation equips you with advanced methodologies for conducting evaluation at the intersection of theory and practice, emphasizing on-the-ground practice. The Certificate in Evaluation Practice (CEP) offers participants a breadth of understanding of the knowledge and skills that are frequently needed for evaluations. The CEP is intended for evaluators who are seeking a course of study that exposes them to the fundamentals of evaluation practice.

The Certificate in Advanced Evaluation Practices (CAEP) allows experienced evaluators to deepen their evaluation understanding, and to improve their ability to produce high-quality evaluations. Completion of the first-level Certificate in Evaluation Practice (CEP) is a prerequisite for beginning the CAEP. The CAEP instruction is designed to increase participants’ depth of understanding of various evaluation approaches and theories. These approaches can help participants design and implement tailored evaluations that are more responsive to each context and its stakeholders.

The Master of Arts in Public Policy & Evaluation trains you in the technical aspects of outcome evaluation to provide a focused understanding of what makes public policy effective. This is a joint program offered by the Division of Politics & Economics and the Division of Behavioral & Organizational Sciences that combines two highly complementary domains—public policy and evaluation—which are often taught and learned separately. The program places strong emphasis on the politics of outcome evaluation; you’ll develop an understanding of stakeholder and constituent roles in evaluation, empowerment aspects, and the ethical requirements of a policy analyst and evaluator.
