The program prepares M.Ed. students to become research methodologists by requiring the completion of comprehensive coursework in educational research methodology, educational statistics, and program evaluation, engaging students in collaborative projects with faculty, and providing opportunities for students to present research.

This program offers both thesis and non-thesis options. Both options are intended for students seeking positions that call for competence in educational measurement and research methodology; however, the thesis option is intended for students who plan to take advanced work in statistical methods or educational measurement at the Ph.D. level.
